# Accessibility Statement

Hey, [Andruid](https://writing-games.org/author/andruid/) here. At Writing Games, I believe that text-based games – and the conversations around them – should be for everyone. I care about making this website as accessible and inclusive as I reasonably can. That means I aim for clean design, readable text, and layouts that work well on different screen sizes.

That said, accessibility is an ongoing effort. I’m still learning and improving, and I know there’s always more I can do. Thanks for your patience as I continue to make Writing Games better for everyone.

## What is accessibility?

To me, it means making sure **everyone can use and enjoy this site**, no matter what device they use, how they navigate, or whether they have a disability.

That includes people using screen readers, voice input, screen magnifiers, or keyboard-only navigation. It also includes people who browse the site on a smartphone or small screen.

## Accessibility on writing-games.org

Here's what I'm aiming for:

- a site that’s easy to read and navigate
- content that works across devices
- features that don’t rely too heavily on visuals alone
- fewer barriers for readers using assistive technology

If you run into something that’s hard to access or use, *please let me know*.

### How to provide feedback

You can reach me via email at **andruid \[at\] writing-games \[dot\] com** or through the [Contact form](https://writing-games.org/contact/). I’ll do my best to fix the issue or find another way to get the information to you.

### Recent updates

Here are the latest changes to improve accessibility on this site:

- breadcrumbs given nav class, converted to lists, and made to use aria-current where appropriate
- aria labels added to descriptive icons where appropriate
- decorative images given empty alt text, including pullquote images
- use of screen-reader-text class in several places to provide context without redundancy
- removed redundant title text from all images
- base text size increased site-wide
